When an attorney works on a document registered in a Hummingbird DMS (including DM5, PowerDocs or DocsOpen), Legal55 looks up the document profile to assign the time to the right matter. The attorney need not click a single button to gain this benefit – the entire process is automatic.
Capture Just the Right Time
Only the time spent focused on the document is captured – a document opened at 9am, closed at 6pm, but only worked on for 45 minutes throughout the day will generate an entry for the 0.75 hours.
Configuring Automatic Capture
To ensure that Legal55 captures this information, just select Manage Time Capture Preferences from the File menu. On the “Auto-Assigment” tab, confirm that Server-Based System and Use Document Management System for Matter Identification are both checked. (Firms running DocsOpen should check that box instead)
